DBS – current

I began working as a birth and poatnatal Doula in 2013 and supported several friends births, experiencing those birth led me to undertaking the Nurturing Birth Doula training course in 2014. The Nurturing Birth course was amazing and inspired me to continue working as a Doula and also to continue my professinal development with further training courses.

From April 2015 til February 2017, I worked for Realbabymilk a UK organisation based in Cornwall. I was the volunteer peer support coordinator for the county. I was also employed by Rbm as a volunteer trainer – my role, training mothers to become breastfeeding peer supporters!

I volunteered weekly for over 4 years as a breastfeeding peer supporter at several successful community groups. I have launched a new community breastfeeding group here in Javea. I was fortunate to train as volunteer hospital breastfeeding peer supporter and gave much of my time to the postnatal ward at my local hospital, part of my paid role with Realbabymilk was to manage and maintain the hospital volunteer service.

After leaving Realbabymilk I went to work for the ABM – Association of Breastfeeding Mothers. I worked for the ABM from February 2017 until June 2018. During this time, I worked as the Training Project Development Manager and assisted the ABM in taking their Partner Module, Mother Supporter and Foundation Breastfeeding Support courses and turning them into on-line training programs.
